Costs:

The currency used in Kenya is the Kenyan Shilling. Money can be converted at the airport in Nairobi, as well as at money exchange centres. We recommend that students carry at least a small amount of Kenyan Shillings in cash to spend as wanted. 

Keep in mind the type of credit/debit card you use, as some cards are not commonly accepted outside the Netherlands (such as Maestro cards). Visa cards and Mastercard are commonly accepted globally. 

M-Pesa is widely used in Kenya, and you can choose to create an account if you wish. 

Cost breakdown: 

The price for the school is 250 Euro; this will include the costs for when we are in Kenya, such as transportation, accommodation, and activities. 

In addition to the 250 Euro, we ask students to pay for their own flight ticket, which we encourage you to book ASAP for the best prices. 

• Costs to think about yourself include vaccinations, visa costs, any food and items you want to buy there.

• If you choose to get certain vaccines and/or take a malaria pill (which we recommend) they will be at your own cost. 
• Please make sure to book a vaccine date in advance if you choose, as there may be a waitlist depending on the vaccination centre. 

Visa: 

To travel to Kenya, your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the date you arrive.

We will support students through the application process. 

Travel and Health Insurance:

We highly recommend that all students have travel insurance to allow for a safe trip and to be covered in the case of an emergency. Health insurance is mandatory. Please double-check that your health insurance has worldwide coverage.
