Friday, October 31 – Arrival Day

  • Whole day: Arrival of students

Saturday, November 1 – Orientation & Workshops

  • Morning:
    – Breakfast and program introduction
    – Icebreaker & getting to know each other
    – Workshop on Qualitative Data Collection Methods by Gerrit-Bartus Dielissen & Ester Driel
  • Afternoon:
    – Session by Junior Achievement Uganda: Introduction to two key challenges
    Challenge 1: Digital literacy among Dutch and Ugandan youth
    Challenge 2: Health-related and digital misinformation
  • Evening:
    – Welcome dinner in Kampala

Sunday, November 2 – Travel & getting to know the campus

  • Morning:
    – Early departure (breakfast boxes provided)
    – Travel outside Kampala
  • Afternoon:
    – Lunch at the Equator and a sightseeing/landscape stop
    – Arriving at the hostel
  • Evening:
    – Welcome dinner at West Campus
    – Informal evening program: getting to know the campus

 

Monday, November 3 – Fieldwork Day 1

  • Morning & Afternoon:
    – Session by Junior Achievement Uganda: Introduction to two key challenges
    Challenge 1: Digital literacy among Dutch and Ugandan youth
    Challenge 2: Health-related and digital misinformation
  • Evening: Informal student activities 

Tuesday, November 4 – Fieldwork Day 2 & Tea Plantation

  • Morning:
    – Collaborative workshop on creative methods by Sara Anschutz
  • Afternoon: Field trip to a tea plantation
  • Evening: TBD

Wednesday, November 5 – Travel Back & Lecture

  • Morning:
    – Seminar 1: Digital literacy and fact checking by Bruce Musvairo
    – Seminar 2: Health-related Misinformation by Prof. Regina
  • Afternoon:
    – Fun activity TBD
  • Evening: Dinner at location

Thursday, November 6 – Data Collection and Podcast Planning

  • Morning:
    – Collecting creative qualitative data
  • Afternoon:
    – Seminar 3: Co-creating a topic list for the podcast/interviews
  • Evening: TBD

Friday, November 7 – Podcast & Reflection

  • Morning & Afternoon:
    – Travel back to Kampala
  • Evening: TBD

Saturday, November 8 – Podcast Making

    – Session by Junior Achievement Uganda:
